Polymer Layered Steel Tube

We often combine Fiber in Metal Tube (FIMT) cables with additional polymer layers to solve particular challenges. The protective layer can be made up of standard polymers or high-performance polymers.

The polymer-protected optical cable has increased impact resistance and excellent durability against mechanical stress. In addition, it allows for greater elasticity and weighs less than extra metallic layers. It’s rodent resistant, making it suitable for direct-buried applications. Upon request, the polymer can include flame retardants and comply with low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) requirements.

The polymer layered steel tube is ideal for umbilical cable solutions in subsea umbilical applications and for the Defense and Marine industries, where elasticity, low weight, and high strength are required.
