Vibration Monitoring

Pinpoint the exact source of a vibration.

Distributed acoustic sense monitoring turns fiber optic sensing cables spanning tens of kilometers into delicate vibration sensors. When vibration occurs on the cable, a microscopic strain occurs at its core. The pressure causes the cable’s molecules to vibrate in equal frequency, which creates a phase distortion of the Reylight Backscatter. By analyzing the distortion signal, the monitoring system provides accurate real-time data about the exact location and magnitude of the vibration.

Harsh Environmental cables function at the optimum level in hazardous settings. A regular cable would succumb to high temperature and pressure, but the resistant sheath of the Harsh Environmental cable protects the optical elements within.

OPGW / Ground Wire

OPGW/Optical Ground Wire

Solid protection against the corrosive forces of nature.

An Optical Ground Wire (OPGW), or simply a Ground Wire, is an optical fiber composite often used in electric power lines. An OPGW is installed for grounding purposes and will protect power lines against lightning strikes. The inner optical layer serves as insulation for the GW itself, as well as for telecommunications purposes.

Aerial / Hanging

Aerial cables are common in optical communication. They are mounted on poles and installed alongside existing low and medium voltage lines and urban infrastructure. Extreme weather conditions and theft are considerations that enter our design process, and we ensure that we minimize the chances of both.
