Bridge and Tunnel Monitoring

Most of the vital infrastructure in the developed world was built in the post-war era of the 1950s, and it’s now in poor condition. Studies estimate that between 30% and 40% of all the bridges in France, Germany, the UK, and the US desperately need major repair work. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) based on fiber optic sensing (FOS) is our solution.

High Temperature Monitoring

Distributed acoustic sense monitoring can turn fiber optic sensing cables spanning tens of kilometers into delicate vibration sensors. When vibration occurs on that cable, even separated by kilometers by the interrogation unit, a microscopic strain occurs over the cable’s core. The strain causes the cable’s molecules to vibrate in equal frequency, which creates a phase distortion of the Reylight Backscatter. By analyzing the distortion signal, the monitoring system can provide accurate real-time data about the exact location and magnitude of the vibration.

Harsh Environmental cables are one of the best examples of a ¼ inch fully metallic cable, where the application requires ultra-high tensile strength and crush resistance for the protection of the optical elements inside.

OPGW / Ground Wire

OPGW/Optical Ground Wire

A wire with solid protection against the corrosive forces of nature. 

An optical ground wire or a ground wire is an optical fiber composite, most often used in electric power lines. OPGW is usually installed for grounding purposes and protection of the power lines against lightning strikes. The inner optical layer serves for insulation for the GW itself, as well as for telecommunications purposes.
